Saw this type of thread of another forum.
So to stay engaged while we aren't at Denwood lets share. Pictures are always interesting.
Today I took delivery of a few bits to tinker with my latest acquisition - HW30sf. I modified the tunnel range in my garden so I don't have to stumble through the blackberry bushes in the dark (yep, built the door the wrong side originally).
Over the last week I've started putting out and shooting some re-settable silhouette targets in the garden, sort of HFT style.

Other than a perusal of the AG Forums, nothing. However, I misread the Government guidelines for working at home. Didn't have my glasses on and thought it said homing from work. Consequently, I've been nailing together a spring compressor for my Original Mod. 50, a gun with a fearsome reputation for not going back together.

Today I shot some card targets to help decide what we’ll do for the ‘Non-postal postal comps”. My shooting, in a word - dire.
10p or 5p?

Was out at perms this morning but all pretty quiet just now should be a lot of corvids on the go as lambing is going on just now. Had a couple of feral pigeons though.

Today I did some 10m bell target in my walled back yard...…... wish I hadn't used my falcon .25

Almost bought a 1972 HW35. But seeing the pics have just confirmed “I’m out”.

Going Postal. Decided to try the HW30 at 6m, thought I could shoot better with a Granny... I was right. How is that?
I changed the front sight element on the HW30 from a simple square post to a hole. It was better, but I prefer the Granny front sight. Luckily, one of the HW30 inserts is very similar, so I’ll try that tomorrow.

Ok, So it turns out that newborn babies are quite time consuming. Who knew?... I haven't done very much, shooting-wise, for ages (Booooo!), but I thought I'd post what I have done. The last time we were at Denwood, I had just fitted a new grip to Schrödinger's pistol and felt that the trigger was now too short. "Gentleman Scientist" Alex suggested a fix using a drill bit and Araldite, so I gave it a go. The trigger blade on my pistol is made from plastic, and the stem (which was damaged when I bought the pistol) was quite short: So, I cut off the short piece of stem and epoxied a 20mm length of drill bit in its place:

Now... Walther still make trigger blades for this pistol, both plastic and metal, with a choice of 12mm or 17mm stem. They are readily available to purchase - as long as you are in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic or Norway! Whilst the Araldite was drying, I managed to place an order for a metal, 17mm one from Norway (Eight of your British pounds, sir!). Once the epoxy was set, I fitted the trigger back into the pistol: And it was like firing a different gun. Ace! A couple of weeks later, the new trigger blade arrived from Norway: It's made from aluminium and has a slightly different shape than the plastic one. Here it is fitted to the gun: I'll keep the plastic/drill bit trigger as a spare.

Well, yesterday, not today: MPL 6m standing unsupported. 233/300; my best so far. Best card was 44/50 (admittedly the worst was 34 ) Finally got the Williams peep sight for the HW30 right - waited an age for it to come in via Brownells UK (COVID delay). Then discovered it had insufficient elevation adjustment, so had to lift the peep hole a bit. All sorts of solutions tried, the most successful (and cheapest) was a small bit of aluminium, with another small hole drilled 8mm higher in it. Also shot another Rifle card for the GARC COVID comp, this time with the HW30 - a faction of a millimetre away from a "20" Today I'm going to let the pistol see the light of day... normal PPS (piss poor score) will no doubt return.

Today I did a bit more GARC COVID Comp practice with HW75 + red dot and HW30 + peep sight. Shoot from inside the workshop, out the door into the covered area. Behind the target is a piece of A3 sized 4mm stainless steel plate.
