A word with Erni last week revealed that, with our portable lights, there's now enough light on the 50m range of an evening to start the 50m comps ahead of schedule. I think the honours of starting the new season should go to last year's winners Erni and Norrie so, Gentlemen, in your own time and the best of luck to everyone.

Erni's beaten you to it on the PCP side of things - details to be posted soon.
I took my HW77 along to the 25m range for some practice and was truly disappointed with how it and I shot. Looks like I'm really out of practice with a springer and these outrageously unnecessary distances. Which means some excuses are required.
So I'll start with...
Since I fitted a new TBT spring and guides, the '77 now seems very hold sensitive. And the "legendary" rekord trigger feels a bit crude compared to the 10m match triggers I've become accustomed to so this weekend may see the hammers coming out to play.

I have added, the newly released file (volume one) of the Paul Bates book of air gunner excuses (Now a best seller in its book form and written by a true master of this art). Featuring a forward by Steve Ludlow, including the technical selection of pellets, and why knock down targets are not living up to their name when he is shooting at them. A full chapter on excuses used by Chris Ward that can be use when in the field while, 1. taking part in any form of group competitions 2. introductions to shooting at Waulkmill and why he is not doing so well. 3. Fitting a TBT spring to a PCP air rifle and which type of air, should be used for shooting underlever spring guns. Volume 2 is now at the printers and volume 3 (still under review before release) will now have a new section to include" The Bri Lie selection of excuses to air gun shooting beyond 10 yards", ranging a target by Black Tony Parslow, and how to service and fit a regulator to a spring gun by Bill Mac.
