Hi Guys ( and guyesses ) Two dates for our usual UKAHFT shoots have been arranged for 19th May and 25th August. These shoots attract HFT shooters from all over Scotland and sometimes beyond. In all fairness we produce new courses for these events, this does three things:- ! ensures that Grampian shooters do not have an advantage, having shot the course prior to the competition. 2 Gives Grampian shooters fresh and different courses for the next year. 3 prevents the firing line biting into the trees if left for long periods These resets are usually done by the same old suspects, we would welcome helpers, the advantage of this to you is you will learn the complexities of course setting, enabling you to know what kill sizes are allowed at what distances, what range traps can be employed and how, and generally how a course is laid out. All this will improve your shooting ability Contact me nearer the dates if you would like to help Paul

An update -
None of the 'usual suspects' are getting any younger, but we are getting slower! Thus we plan on closing the Top Course after Sunday 28th April. Last year we only changed targets and their positions, so this year we are changing the firing line rope, shooting posts and targets/positions - a much bigger job, usually entailing clearing branches to create corridors between shooting post and target.
Us old 'uns have the freedom to go out to Waulkmill during the week (when the weather is dry) - we would welcome anybody who is free to join us. In addition we are going to have 'work party days' (probably Saturday 4th and 11th May), when we hope more people will be free to provide help.
I'll ask Nick (GARC Secretary) to send an email to all members with finalised work party dates.
