The usual suspects have put their heads together and devised another Waulkmill Night Shoot.
Mark the 18th November in your diary. Earlier start due it getting darker earlier (and the clocks going back an hour) - safety brief, assigning shooting partners and starting pegs will be at 5:45pm (17:45 for our ex military personnel).
Usual comment about clothing, torches, etc.
We'll ask Paul nicely to bring his generator and Steve will bring his hob to boil some water for hot beverages - BYO mugs and tea/coffee/milk/sugar/hot chocolate etc.
Fingers crossed for some dry weather and a bit of moonlight this time.

I like your optimism. You will, however, be disappointed - HFT (even in the best of conditions) ain't my thing.

Paul and I put out the glow sticks, set up the Genny and the stove, and...... Well no one turned up!
Imagine for yourself how I feel.

Oh.
That is... disappointing to say the least.

From my experience of running events, there's not much appetite for competition amongst the GARC membership in general. On top of that, the night shoots bring a lot of other factors into play but, even taking that into account, it's a poor show and Paul and yours laudable efforts could have been saved if people just communicated their interest (or lack thereof) beforehand.
Again, disappointing.

In our defence, Steve and Myself did spend a good three and a half hours basking under the LED lights, drinking coffee, eating bacon butties, putting the world to rights and PLOTTING. Pity nobody turned up, it was a dry evening with little wind, unlike the day which was very wet. The problem is this, we have to announce and plan these night shoots in advance, its got to be in winter so that we start early and finish before you lot turn into vampires, pumpkins, or the local pub. Because of this we are into cold, wet and windy weather, or should I say colder, wetter and windier than summer. So here is a thought, try a night shoot in summer, start at midnight and finish at Sunrise, at least the rain will be warmer!. Your Thoughts on this please Paul

From my experience of running events, there's not much appetite for competition amongst the GARC membership in general. Wind, rain or even snow there were always people at night shoots.Even people coming up from clubs from dan saff.
What's happened?
