The main factor for me is, well me - inability to hold steady and release the trigger smoothly. There are other reasons, but they are the fundamental ones. Apart from my own problems, how about the inherent characteristics of our barrels/pellets? I found this a) overwhelming and b) something I want to try understanding Linkyclickything

In my case (shooting 10m pistol and rifle) it's mostly due to lack of practice.
There's never enough hours in the week to get a decent amount in.

So just to point you in the right direction, I will use some selected words which may help answer your concerns! in no particular order: Crap, piss poor, useless, unlucky, scratched and to all of these words can be added just one last word....shot!
