Hey everyone, I've just been told that that ranges Waulkmill has been strimmed to remove the vegetation. So you can see the targets now, which always helps! Club shoots are every Sunday from 10am-5pm at Waulkmill Fishery. The other bit of news was that I was informed by Police Scotland that the National Smallbore Rifle Association (NSRA) had suffered a cyber attack and subsequent data breech. We don't believe any GARC member information has been passed to the NSRA. There isn't a lot of information about the data which was taken (see links below). I think there is a worry that criminals are trying to target gun owners as a source of firearms. NSRA Press ReleaseGuardian News ArticleNick (GARC Secretary)

Well done to the persons involved with the strimming at Waulkmill and a BIG thank you. That has saved Paul Bates and myself a job this Friday as both of us were going to do the same and some course repair (again) on the bottom course. Having just completed the top course last week.
Will also add that Steve Ludlow is also stripping down and updated most of the targets we have in store / not in use at the moment for rotation with the targets already on all the ranges Garc use . So it looks like there is some team effort going on here. Which is what a club is all about, instead of some members turning up and moaning, then going home without adding any positive value to being a member to our air rifle club. But their are always some of these people in any club.
Thanks, you have made my day. Who ever you are.

Yep, well done to person (or persons) unknown for donating their time and effort for the benefit of other Club members.
Being Denwood biased, I'm not aware of anyone who turns up there and moans (certainly not within my earshot) without actually doing anything beneficial - is this just a Waulkmill phenomena?
Should say that I've never been too concerned about those who b@gger off before the targets need to come in and the sweeping up as everyone has different circumstances regarding their available time.
PS. Bring on the martini target - that'll tempt me down to the 50m range more often.

PS. Bring on the martini target - that'll tempt me down to the 50m range more often. The Martini target is one of the string reset type. I'll modify one of my own resettable targets for you. If I don't get to Denwood in the near future, at the risk of taking advantage of him, I'll see if Chris can bring it with him... if we stick a broom up his arse he'll no doubt be able to sweep up after us as well sorry Chris.

We don't believe any GARC member information has been passed to the NSRA. In the past we had to supply names and (if I remember correctly) addresses of members as part of the insurance application.

We don't believe any GARC member information has been passed to the NSRA. In the past we had to supply names and (if I remember correctly) addresses of members as part of the insurance application. When we renewed in December 2022 I had a conversation with the membership team about the current number of members in the club but I didn't pass any member details at that point. However I'm not sure about past contact with the NRSA.
