Collected 35 targets from Waulkmill today for cleaning, rust removal, painting and lubricating, in readiness for the UKAL comp in August.
Suggestions for custom faceplates can be made via this forum. If not indecent and within my skillset I will attempt some.

I'd like a submarine target for out in the swamp - last time I was down that end the conditions were right for it. The spitfire silhouette (what treason is this?) should be replaced with a Zero, because who can resist such a high-brow shooting joke? "What's your zero?" "It's over there." Hours of fun.
Norman - The knock down targets can be bought from a few different retailers. I know some people use GunTuff ones, which you can get from Amazon etc.

We have a frigate, the problem with it being so long is that you can get the wind wrong by 4 inches and still get a face plate for one point. The hit zone could be put in the conning tower. Being ex-RAF, Chris has always had a problem shooting the Spitfire. |

Just what I thought. So that if you get both wind and elevation totally wrong you might still hit the long plate, but chances are you'll be going for the conning tower and have less leeway. Most of the targets have some part or other that if you got it totally off you can still get a hit (apart from the lollypops). Personally don't find that a problem, but I realise there are far more serious shooters out there than me.

31 returned. 30 are in the photo below. They are currently in the bothy/clubhouse, please leave them as they are required for the Bottom Course rebuild. You'll see in the picture a submarine, a Zero airplane and a Martini glass (thank you for the suggestions). Can you see the Zero? 
The other returned target has a replacement faceplate I cut from some cadmium plated steel. Cadmium plating is yellow in colour. if it works we can forget painting faceplates in the future. One possible problem is - how well can we see faceplate strikes when there is no paint on the faceplate? Please try it out and give some feedback. |

If you count the targets there appears only to be 29. There are 30, so the 'Zero' is there. Look at the very top, it is edge on. |
