Nerdy:
Heard some good reports about H&N Baracuda FT pellets. In my barrels: better than some batches of JSB Exacts, but not as good as batch 51110018-1. Which is pretty much the norm.
No prisoners:
Should we lay out one of the Waulkmill courses to make it as hard as possible to score 'hits' within the rules for the UKAL comps? minimum 'hit' zone, minimum faceplate around 'hit' zone, have to 'come up' the peg to see hit zone... anymore strategies?
Controversial:
Task DRA to clean up Denwood facilities.
Every member must be involved in the organisation/running/reporting of at least one competition a year.
Tongue in cheek:
Members to make a tea/coffee for any Committee member whenever they demand it. Conversely Committee members to give out chocolate from their own supply whenever asked.
Ban one-eyed shooting - both eyes must be open
50p fine for each week a member doesn't shoot (unless they are working, on holiday or ill). 50p bonus for each attendance over 52/year.
Nonsense:
Only one piece of shooting paraphernalia can be carried at a time - to avoid overloaded bags, bags count a one piece. Guns have to be carried in bags!
To incentivise younger shooters, nobody can shoot a gun manufactured within 30 years of their own birth.
Once a month, to simulate night shooting, scope lens caps cannot be removed, although illuminated reticles can be turned on. Open sights can be used with welding goggles.

Warning. Making courses hard gets you no friends and can,and does, cause hissy fits. Making them really hard just creates whinging and whining unless things have changed in the last 5 years.

Sage advice I.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding some of the craic at the UKAL comps; but there seems to a tiresome background grumbling present.

How about banning rifles with a new price of more than £1000 and scopes costing more than £250. we could also insist that right handers shoot left handed and vice versa. In a Comp, anybody that falsley calls a target gets put on the naughty step. All this just for starters

Hey SBTH, I saw you on Sunday. Do you have a twin, as there were two of you? Or have you been stealing Dolly’s drugs and you’ve been cloned?
I see from your mug shot that you are ready for the night shooting simulation.

No twin, just Lady Hare and myself out for a Sunday hop to the snow covered woods of Waulkmill, which is part of our estate at Warren Castle. I will skip the details of any simulations, as Sunday is reserved for the real thing, and Lady Hare likes to finish off the night with a jump. I do enjoy a Sunday, nearly as much as my Tuesday's at that well known fine dinner (listed in the who's who's of places to visit) Glen-HareFlick Country Park.

What's the worst that could happen? 1) if a GARC member was using the Denwood outdoor ranges to shoot outside of the GARC-est hour?
2) if a GARC member was mining the lead deposits at Denwood?

1. You could get shot by another club using the ranges in their booking time. 2. Are you a member of the NUM?

1) unless you’d booked with and paid DRA for the range hire “outside of the GARC-est hour” I guess it might be armed trespass 2) without permission from DRA I imagine you’d be trespassing and stealing The response might range from a knock at your door from the ‘boys in blue’, to facing a gun wielding anti-terrorist officer. If this happened, I’d hope GARC moved quickly to disassociate itself from you to protect (i) it’s AWL, and (ii) it’s relationship with DRA to ensure we retain Denwood as a shooting facility available to us.
