Hello
I am from near Elgin been away from any shooting for a while looking to visit the club and see if now i have some spare time, to get back into a love of mine. went to a club in Perth many years ago to look at Field target shooting but distance was way too much. I am free every weekend and Wednesdays I have sent the direct Intro via the web site so hoping for a reply. I dont have an Air rifle at present nor a licence but as the web site advises before I go out spending dosh I would love to meet up with some of you to work out what would be the best options. I use to have several weihrauch which at the time were pretty good then went to a czech PCP air pistol that had been converted to a floating barrel .177 rifle with suppressor and 10 round mag adaptor that was more accurate than myself. I have been a shooting instructor with the Air Cadets at Elgin running indoor and outdoor ranges in the past as well as being ex forces (many moons ago with the SLR).
any way a bit of an intro look forward to hearing from you
Ian

Hello Ian, Steve has passed on your details to me, so I will contact you before the weekend. Oh dear, another ex- Rock Ape. Will the woods of Waulkmill be turned into a breeding ground for retired ex Royal Air Force warriors?

Don't worry - we won't hold it against you. Well, not too much... With a little bit of prior arrangement, come on down and have a look around and play with some of our toys. There's usually quite a variety on offer from Russ' all singing, all dancing FX guns with IR nightsights, Capt. Chris' Classic Corner, the 10m nobility with their exquisite pistols and rifles, multitudinous springer fans and everything in between. You're bound to find something that fits and it's far better and more fun than buying blind.

That is the aim,
been looking online at the HFT that definitely is the type of thing I would love to get into. Hopefully when there is something on to do with the HFT I can pop along and see.

Cheers to Chris for a great day and the use of his S200. A damn fine set up, I will get the forms all off ASAP and invest in a few things to make the shooting a little more comfortable for the damper days.

Welcome Ian, I dread asking what a rock ape may be for fear of ridicule.

Whatever you do, don't ask a Bootneck about Rock apes - I did that once and he's probably still laughing.

Whatever you do, don't ask a Bootneck about Rock apes - I did that once and he's probably still laughing. Apparently the Bootnecks were the ones that named the RAF Regt Rock apes but i have never researched it. As for him still laughing yep I can understand that. I only did a NAAFI break (6 years) enjoyed the banter (but that has been outlawed as of this week according to the MOD).
