I'm unsure if I'm simply making this up or if this is (or was) a happening thing, were there any plans for a formal open day at Waulkmill?
I fancy going and having a look now the weather is kinder but it would be nice to be shown the ropes as it were.
I'm terribly shy you see....
And self conscious.

When all the new course equipment is ready and the magical Waulkmill elves have worked selflessly and diligently to set out new courses there will be an open day. As the elves are all volunteers with a strong sense of responsibility, we are extremely grateful for the work they do and respectful of their timetable. I’m looking forward to the open day and meeting people at Waulkmill,and have fingers crossed for a warm dry day. |

Rmemeber to wear all your best camouflage gear so the tin bunnies don't see you! I need to drag myself up again, been painting wargames models and playing with hornby trains instead of shooting, it'll never do!

I'll consider going if the targets are reset to 10m or less. Not sure about the rolling around in the mud bit though.  The Waulkmill Warriors seem to like it but then they are a funny bunch. |

Well, upstairs is for the noble souls who eschew the easy, lazy comforts and challenge themselves to become better shots by shooting standing while downstairs is for the types who couldn't hit a barn door without a chair, table, bipods and cushions to rest their guns and a**es on. |

You don`t have to wait for an open day at Waulkmill. just turn up any Sunday, I get there between 10 and 11 cos by the time Iv`e ad me medication thats the time. Somebody will be daft enough to show you around, lend you a gun with pellets and generally look after you, and you get the WHOLE DAY for a fiver. For the Denwood shooters, please accept that Waulkmill is OUTDOORS, we got mud, branches, frequent rain, wind and all sorts of beasties. You can turn up dressed in whatever floats yer boat but high heels and/or gay pride will result in the piss being taken. Bring a flask and something to eat cos it can be a long day and putting the world to rights in the Bothy is a tradition
