Thought I'd get something for any future Cheap Gun Challenges on Competition Wednesdays. After the last one (where I scored 0/20) something with a bit more potential for hitting targets than a Chinese Springer was called for. And here it is - 60 quidsworth of Oriental .22 goodness in the form of an SMK XS78.
Haven't fired it yet but it seems to lack the absence of quality that is the hallmark of SMK. Should be interesting.

You will have to join chinese airgun forum to learn how to hold that, they are getting a lot better than the early offerings but the Chinese national team probably use German target rifles

Hi Paul. Yep, joined the UKCA Forum. More tips and technical information than you could shake a B2 at. Bit of a funny bunch - some friendly, helpful folk and a few officious Car Park Attendants.
Maybe a bit more telling is that their Jokes Bit has only two entries. AGF, by comparison, has 25 pages. Never trust anyone without a sense of humour.

The scope looks ok, but a lot of junk attached to it. Yep should do nicely for next china comp.

You've just shown that you know nothing because the scope is cheap and nasty.
So there!

Just wait until you go against this gun in competition, you'll be crying rather than laughing! Just bored out the transfer port seal and applied some Nitro Super Ultra Turbo Boost Grease to the slide-y bits.
It'll rock!

I think that your picture of this new wonder weapon shows it all!! You clearly use it as a door stop. But we will see?

No googling required - my HW30S is already bumslided.

Another new acquisition. This time it's a wee bit older and more characterful - a BSA Standard.
Very early serial number means it was made in 1919 and, although it could use a strip and regrease, it's in not bad shape.
The blueing has turned a bit brown but it's even and nothing to worry about. Two screws are missing - one from the trigger guard and another from the tap area. Should be easy enough to source and replace. Yet to be chrono'd and fired at a target but my fingers are crossed.

Welcome to the world of the Antique Air Rifles, now that you have this beauty it will become your prized weapon. you will need to get a small light weight hammer, small block of wood and rubber band, for sighting, and be prepared to have people laugh at you as you tap away for the zero, just like you did to me......nice one Bri you have now become an Antique Air Musketeer (AAM)

Thanks Chris.
Pretty please - if you're visiting Protek this week, would you mind taking a small shopping list with you?

Now a member of the Los Pistoleros and having been turned to the dark side by drinking martini's.....what next? well its common knowledge that when it comes to shooting pistol's by me, the safe area is to stand in front of the target. So I have invested into a pistol that I hope will improve my shooting, instead of my normal type of pistols that are fun guns (don't knock the gat).
Model PP700SA Artemis and because I am foremost a rifle man...…. a stock to go with it (just in case)
Oh yes and because I went to Protek, I couldn't walk away without getting a little something from yester year.....A gat Rifle!!! (got your spares Bri)

Tasty. Especially the genetically modified, steroid abusing Gat Rifle!
Thanks for picking up those bits.
Finding it hard to believe you left Protek with just two new guns though - is there something you're not telling us?
