Been pondering this.
Thought about trying some in prep for the possible lead ban. The prices can be eye-watering, so decided not to bother at those stage.
Anyone done any testing with non-lead pellets? What were your conclusions?

I was given some prometheous and copper ones to try out, haven't got around to it yet.
Not since falling madly in love with JSB's. I'm wondering what to do with the tins of wasps now.
I'll look out the copper ones and stick them in my bag, give me a poke when I'm next at the range and I'll give some to try.

Hope we don't get a lead ban, for the relatively small volumes we use.
Saying that I have a few 'Pb-free' .22" JSBs (5.5mm / 11.75grain), nae cheap @£14/200 though! Plus a few 'green' pellets from other brands. Still haven't done much testing though...

Did I miss something? Is there a lead ban coming?
A quick Google reveals old articles (that I'd not seen) such as:
but nothing much more recent - where's this coming from? And are there not dispensations for target shooting where the lead can be recovered?

Did I miss something? Maybe. Is there a lead ban coming? Possibly.
A quick Google reveals old articles (that I'd not seen) such as:
but nothing much more recent because it still in the review phase - where's this coming from? The Shooting the Breeze forum goes into depth. And are there not dispensations for target shooting where the lead can be recovered? No, but there might be. The report and any subsequent action is awaited.

I have tried different makes of non-lead pellets in my HW97 (.20) when new (around 2.500 to 3,000 rounds), and not having used lead pellets before hand in this rifle (the barrel had not been leaded) . Some makes worked ok(ish) at all ranges. However its shoots lead now and has done so for some time with greatly improved results & grouping. Very good for a HFT course, if I am having a good day myself. I would not like to go back to non-lead!!!
I also tried non-lead in my HW77 (.177), a long time user of lead JSB's before hand. Results were shocking but in with a chance if I could reload quickly at any Clays that were passing by my local airspace. I then did my best to de-lead the barrel using de-leading foams, sprays and hard bushing, and tried again using non-leaded pellets. Results were poor from this well tried and tested HFT rifle. Went back to the JSB's and back on target and has been shooting great ever since.
One problem I do see is, if you try to use a gun that has used lead before hand, using non-leading ammo is never going to be as good! Even with much cleaning and de-leading actions taken.
Sorry non-lead pellets is not for me. Don't like them at all and have heard & seen that non-lead can / will damage your rifling in the barrel over time or regular use.
