.177 are no good in my pcp, giving approx. 3/4” edge-to-edge groups at 26yds. That’s £19 wasted, well, not wasted, as I’ve confirmed they’re not an option in that gun.

I can't speak for PCP use but Superdomes have always been my preferred projectile in Springers. They're the first pellet I try with a new rifle, they work great with my old Brit guns and my HW77 swears by them.
Usually a good bit cheaper than JSBs too.

But .22 Superdomes in my Ultra give the best group. So, as the adopted wisdom has, different barrels prefer different pellets - and that’s not even getting into pellet batch number preference!

Better in my ‘grannie’ and why I tried them in the pcp. They are also shinier and leave less residue on my fingers. In all my guns, smaller groups were achieved with the cheaper Superdomes than with Superfields.

I'm sure there is some significance, but I’m not sure what it is. Loading the .177 RWS pellets into the Rowan Engineering ‘single pellet loader’ had a very different feel to loading a JSB. The RWS met a noticeable resistance part way in that it jumped past, while the JSB just pushed in with consistent resistance.
Edit: hmm, I wonder if loading via magazine makes any difference?

Thinner, softer skirts on JSBs?

Yep, I too find RSW's good for springers and somewhat down the list for PCP's
