Steve, I need a bit of advice on the subject of Rink grips please.
I'm gathering as much experience and details about a set for my Izzy and, from what I've gathered so far from a trawl of t'web, Rink grips often feel smaller than ideal despite measuring your hand and applying their size guidelines as best as possible.
Seeing as you splashed the cash on a set for your LPM-1 and have first hand experience, has this been the case for you and would you advise ordering the next size up from what their chart says is the right fit?
Cheers.

Aloha, fellow Pistoleros! Well Bri, I’m glad you asked… When I was considering buying these (hideously expensive) Rink grips, I was in a similar position to you. I didn’t want to pony-up the cash, wait a couple of months for delivery, only to then find out that they didn’t fit my hand. You’ll be familiar with this sizing chart: Well in the days and weeks whilst I considered my purchase, I must have measured my hand over a hundred times. Across the back, across the front, fingers closed, fingers splayed, hand in a fist, steel rule, tape measure, piece of string, etc. etc. I also had my wife measure my hand dozens of times just to make sure. Our final, considered opinion was that my hand measured 100mm across the knuckles, meaning I needed an XL sized grip. This didn’t feel right, as I don’t think that I have particularly large hands, but due diligence done, I went ahead and ordered the XL’s. Six weeks later, my grips arrived and were swiftly onto my pistol. It soon became apparent that the XL is NOT the ideal size for my hand! The palm shelf on these grips has approximately 10mm of vertical adjustment, and when correctly adjusted to fit my hand, the palm shelf is pretty much all the way up (almost as small as I can make it). Even though I’m happy with the fit, I would have been better off with the Large size, which would have put my hand somewhere in the middle of the range of adjustment. This is opposite to some of the stuff on t’internet, where folk have been finding that their grips are smaller than expected. Now… I’ve just nipped out to the garage and measured my hand with a set Vernier calipers, and whadda you know – 95mm! If I’d done this in the first place, I’d have bought the Large size. My advice, then, would be to measure your hand with a set of Verniers rather than a tape, and go with the size on the chart. 😊

Now that's the sort of advice I'm looking for - thanks Steve!
My hand is coming in at XL but that's maybe not as accurately measured as it could be. I'll be rechecking that for sure. I take it that the finger grooves don't feel undersized or tight and that it's just the palm shelf adjustment range that's the issue?
I did put up a thread about this on shooting's most humourless forum (Stirton.com) but no one has replied to it. That's mainly my fault because I didn't put a deliberate and obvious mistake in my question - they're very slow and not overly generous with advice on there but, as the joke about martinis goes*, damn fast to jump in and correct you. Think I'll repose the question in a stupid newb way to get them contributing.
I also posted a Wanted add for Rink grips there. Someone replied that I could get them from, wait for it... Rink. Serious or sarcastic, I just can't tell with that crowd.
*If you ever find yourself stranded on a desert island with no hope of ever being found, just start mixing a martini - crowds of people will quickly appear to tell you that you're doing it wrong.

Amusing surname de La Rochefoucauld. Anyone else translated it as "of the Rich, old F**k"... or is it just me?
