Well after the last couple of posts, I too just hard to find out WHAT a Quill Shaft/drive is?
Quote; "Quill drive. A quill drive is a mechanism that allows a drive shaft to shift its position (either axially, radially, or both) relative to its driving shaft. It consists of a hollow driving shaft (the quill) with a driven shaft inside it."
Well I think that this has cleared this up, and I am still none the wiser!!! But please, please and one more for luck, PLEASE Paul, you don't need to explain, I preferred Bri's results with google

OK, won`t explain but just to keep the grey matter foaming how about "Huck Bolt,Cleco Pin and Avdel Rivet" all used in a previous life by myself and a sneaky "Phased lock loop Thyristor", I managed to convince my foreman that such a beast was hiding in the control wiring of an electric forklift and was giving so much trouble that several more days of indefatigable exertion would be needed to rectify the problem

Well a very good day at waulkmill this Sunday was had by all that attended. The day started off with a discussion about this very forum with the Godmother, Chris M, myself and Paul Bates trying to discover the I.D of one of the forum user,….name withheld until further investigation is completed or did we get it wrong. Next was a display of marksmanship by Chris M with his newly acquired Relum Tornado in .22 against the pilking tgts. No knock downs were scored, but no misses either!! After 30 minutes a rest was required to restore power to his cocking arm (now now keep it clean), for those of you who have not cocked this 1962 classic air rifle, it takes some effort and builds up the arm mussels.
Paul Sheppard was noted as missing and a late text message confirmed that he had slept in...shame on you Paul. Next was a round on the bottom course where no score cards were used. Both the Chris's had to get use to shooting .177 again after their triumph at the HFT comp with .22 (Joint first and second placements)we didn't do so well until a few tgts had been shot at and slowly got back into the aiming points of the .177. The Godmother did very well again!! No wonder some of you Denwood crew stay away, beaten by a woman hey! (Dare you take her on then?).
Dinner was had and drinks served before a second round on the top course began. The top course had turned into a mini juggle and due to the sheep moving into the field some tgts had been pulled in, so not to over shoot into the live stock should one miss?? but as always a good round was had and lots of ohh's and arrr's on some tgts that didn't fall to our band of snipers. Weather was lovely with some wind- just enough to make you think about certain shots before pulling the trigger. The top course will in the next few weeks get a long overdue make over. Shooting started at 10am and the last person went home at 7pm and all for £5 per person, it don't get any better than that.

Ah, sorry I wasn't hare, there this Sunday, sounds like a good day. But I would like to point out for other club members that the three members of our club who shot under the GARC banner in the HFT comp a few Sundays ago. Did in fact come Joint first, second and third in the classes that they entered. Chris M joint first .22, Chris W second in .22 (bet that got to him, being beaten on the day by Chris M), and Paul Bates third in the veterans. A couple of other members did shot as indepenant's (not GARC), but didn't score in the prize giving's. So a 100% effort and result for Team GARC. Also a big thank you should be gratefully extended to non-shooting members who turned up, helped out with the Admin side of things that made the comp a good event! Dale for signing in and marshal duties, Teri (Godmother) marshal and cleaning, Steve for marshalling, Par's for marshalling, Paul S for turning up even in the rain, but didn't shoot due to a chance that his rifle and himself may get a few rain drops on them, and black Tony for cooking and trying to blow up the GARC club house and very nearly did, but that's another story for another day.
As I say guy's sorry I wasn't there this Sunday, but looking forward too the Club shoot in July and the August HFT, see you soon.

Forgot to add from Steve GARC Sexy terry -- e-mail to club members
Hello,
There have been eight members who have said they would like to attend an open day at Waulkmill. Most have said they wouldn't need transport; for those that would, like some assistance with transport, Les Mackie has kindly offered to give a lift from Aberdeen.
In discussion with Paul Bates (the GARC Waulkmill Rep) and the other regulars of Waulkmill, the date has been set as
Sunday, 7th July, starting at 10:30.
We would encourage everyone to come along, whether you previously expressed an interest or not.
There is a clubhouse (not as plush as Denwood) that has hot drink making facilities and a toilet (for ladies, and bushes for the males!). Bring your own food. Access is along a track (leave the Ferrari at home, but normal family road cars have no problem) and there is plenty of parking.
If you don't have a rifle and would like to borrow a Club rifle, let us know before 3rd July.
For those making their own way; follow the brown tourist signs for Waulkmill Fishery from New Deer or from the A950 (between Mintlaw and New Pitsligo). The attached document is a picture of the entrance to Waulkmill.
We hope to see many of you there.
Regards
GARC Secretary

Many thanks Bob the Hare for your kind comments, with out trying to put myself down, a third in veterans sounds impressive till you realise that there were only three of us,but I had a good time, shot around with Grant Thomson who won the open, and I managed to kill a target that he plated (and he onlt plated two). Had the Godmother entered the comp, she would have won the ladies just for entering, and I think that is OK cos at least she was there! These comps are really hard work to set up and my thanks go to all who helped, and I was sorry to lumber Dale with the near impossible task of scoring wet cards in many bits, hopefully I can do better at the next one

From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in England now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

Thanks BRI, I have just looked at the new web page, and can see that you Bri, have referred myself and Paul S as the Morecambe & Wise of Waulkmill. Well BRI! we are not the Morecambe and wise, nor are we the Laurel and Hardy of this famous shooting grounds. But are indeed the Peter Pan and Tinker Bell of Waulkmill. Myself being the handsome and youthful Peter Pan (superhero) and as for Paul S, well he is just the Big Fairy!!!!

Well, there's gratitude for you! How could anyone complain about being compared to the legends that were Eric and Ern? And to think I was previously going to call you the Ant & Dec of Waulkmill... But then, I realised you wouldn't know who they were. How about this instead?
