It is a boring and predictable answer… whatever pellet is best in your gun.
This means I keep a stock of five different Brands/Design/calibre/weight for my small amount of guns. As to price - it’s increasing and depends on Brand/Design/calibre/weight, how many you buy and where you buy them from, and don’t forget delivery (or fuel for collecting them).

PCP shooters mostly swear by JSB Exacts. Must admit, My AA S400F rather likes them.
At heart, I'm an RWS man - Superdomes work well in almost every springer I have and R10s are simply the best for any pistol. Went off of H&N offerings after the appalling performance of some Bisley Practice pellets (I'm told they're made by H&N) although I do like Excite Econ 2s - high performance, low cost.

Price: anything from £5.99/500 to £17/200 depending on how well you want your pellets to be made and what you intend to be shooting with them.

Sorry, bit late to the party, gonna pass on advice given to me, Please try QYS, they come in domed or streamlined, 8.48 or9.56gr and all seem to be 4.50 head size. Shoot well in my gun and reputedly in springers or PCPs Available online from Wolfman and others, not going to give a price cos it`s a supply and demand thing and will vary by the day. Come in a black and gold tin with a screw lid.Qiang yuan sport, yes they are Chinese just like your computer!

Have to say when I popped into Blackpool Air Rifles last week, I picked-up an order for Bri and was gonna get some R10 (Pistol) pellets for my ongoing 10m campaign, but Sean assured me his local club's 10m shooters all swear by RWS Basics being better than R10 Pistol. Fantastic as they're literally half the price (£5/tin?) - so of course I bought a few of them instead. Cheers. Russ

Admittedly my extremely poor pistol shooting is a bigger hindrance to consistent scores than variation in pellet performance. But when I steadied the pistol there was a difference in group size and larger spreads of fps between different pellet brands/types etc. The Bisley wadcutters I tried were definitely ‘socially distanced’ in their group!
