Get one of the better pistol shooters (Bri, SteveP) to try it, in that way you'll be largely eliminating shooter variability.

I wouldn't get too worked up about just yet - CO2 guns will all be dismal in these Winter temperatures.
If it's a pellet version, we can give it a try in the (relative) warmth of the 10m range and see how it fares.

That makes sense and to be honest was my next move, I'm getting consistent results with the rotary 8 shot mags especially in double action mode (possibly a lighter trigger), the heavier pistols are proving to be a challenge. Of course it could also be I'm expecting too much of essentially a training or leisure 'plinking' pistol. I'm not ready just yet to step into that high end precision shooting bracket, yet.

Los Pistoleros ride again!
The 2022 Pistol League got off to an impromptu start last night - keep an eye on here and the Posh website for details.

Thanks very much for starting things off Bri, but dagnammit (F#@$%!) for waiting till after I'd shot my PB to suggest it (sob!) I'm trying with the new (to me) HW75 this year, though with me + the Izzy scoring ever-so-slightly better just before the firing arm wobbles set-in, I'm considering shooting alternate Wednesdays with that (but not counting the scores for the comp'). That would have the dual effect of slowing down the speed I get through all ten rounds, thus avoiding the situation last time where a few of us finished round #10 before some folk had started. BTW I like your write-up in the 'posh website' thread for this new comp: www.grampian-air-rifle-club.co.uk/pistol-league-2022/Cheers. Russ

Thanks Russ.
No-one twisted your arm to kick things off officially and you've lived in the NE long enough to know that enthusiasm and confidence rarely work out well in this neck of the woods so, the next time things are going well and you're on a roll, quit. It's an outlook that has served generations of Aberdonians well.
Don't forget that we're also running an Open Pistol Comp too. The HW75 might be better suited to that "anything goes" style of shooting while you could concentrate on the Pistol League with the Izzy.
As for targets, we'll need a new batch but I'm undecided about swapping over to the NSRA style. There's pros and cons to both them and the Bisley ones we've used for years and I'd like to see an NSRA one in the flesh before I decide.

I'm keen to get involved in this, especially the open comp.
Even though I've no clue what to expect.
I'll be lurking here looking for updates and 'how to' posts

"How to" posts?
I think we can manage that. Watch this space...

1. Aim 2. Wobble 3. Yank at trigger with hope in your heart as the target fleetingly passes through your sights 4. Repeat four more times 5. Do the same with another card
Or is that just my level of ineptitude?
And probably, more importantly - put off/extract urine from those still shooting.

Afternoon all.
Bri tomorrow I'll take along both the couple of NSRA 10m & 6 yard targets I was kindly sent by the nice chap on the AGF to help us decide.
Cheers. Russ

Oh all right, if you think the HW75 is ok for the open league I'll attempt to score with it there, leaving the Izzy for t'other league. See y'all the morra, cheers. Russ
