Or, as named by B-T-H, the Weihrauch Cher.
Picked her up yesterday, clamped a scope on (the scope cost almost as much as the rifle!!!). 22 ‘wet’ pull throughs to clean the barrel - how many? yep 22 - no jokes about a ‘dirty Cher’ please. Filled up.... oh please! with air. After trying 14 different types of pellets, further/final selection between RWS Superdome, JSB Heavy, H&N Barracuda Match and Qiang Yuan is needed. I expected JSB Exacts, but no.
After nearly 300 pellets, first impression is. ‘Agricultural’ compared to MK4is, FTP and HW100. Inserting/removing the magazine is shite. But the ergonomics work for me and the grouping is superb (with the 4 types of pellet). Even being a ‘walnut or AA laminate’ person, I like the black finish.

Good review - better than anything I've read in AirGunner recently. I bet a certain Journo wishes he could get such stuff printed!

And, if your gun is now called Cher, should we start addressing you as Sonny?

Well, ten days since I picked up LSP and I’ve now put getting on for 1000 pellets through it. The action has got a lot slicker. Surprised how quickly the action has ‘bedded in’, hope this is not indicative of future high wear rate!
Find myself wondering even more now why I didn’t get on with the 100. The obvious thing would be sporter stock vs thumbhole... but then I did try an aftermarket sporter stock and I didn’t get on any better. Maybe the weight and shortness compared to a full length 100. Anyway, move on!
And ‘arse’; Superdomes were brilliant, at least the tin I had was. Having bought a supply, the new ones are all over the place - 6 being one enlarged hole, and 4 flying 1.25” off without apparent rhyme-nor-reason. Ah well, the JSB Heavies are just as good as the original tin of Superdomes.
Chairgun suggested the Superdomes have a Ballistic Coefficient that delivers a bigger vertical trajectory drop than the Heavies. Some testing showed the Chairgun BC value was different (for both types) to what I was seeing over the 26 yds of my shooting tunnel. Plugging in the BCs values I got, Chairgun now shows similar vertical trajectories. Used the Heavies on Sunday at Waulkmill, they seemed ok, but my standing shooting skills (I don’t do prone) hid any pellet variability.
I hope I continue to bond with LSP.

Who seemed to have bonded quite strongly with Cher on Sunday at Waulkmill. Cos he can`t shoot prone, there are six or so targets that are unshootable but all the rest were falling to the long, skinny and plastic. I think that carefull use of the chainsaw could improve the course for standers without detriment to the rest of us,will give it a go when I`m back from the Bristol trip

It seemed like a nice gun to me, and you were certainly getting decent results with it. One of these days I'll actually bother to find out what pellets my gun "likes" rather than just buying 4.51 AirArms Diablos just because that's what I've always bought. Who knows, maybe that's what I need to do to get my "usual" score over 46 (that and actually practice, but we don't mention that).

Would recommend asking Tony about pellets, he seems to be the expert?

Would recommend asking Tony about pellets, he seems to be the expert? Judging by a number of competitors at Waulkmill on the 11th you got to have a suck on them first... maybe it was to dry the rain off!

remember to tell Cher you love herBigamist, I enjoyed both LSP and California (the Gaystate) last night. Oh, and ‘grab a granny’, in the form of Chris’s and Bri’s old rifles. Got to get me one, the satisfaction at 10m is addictive... oh and the smell on your hands afterwards from the dieseling is part of it.
