Who's up for some more postal competitions?
Similar to last year's or a different format? Let's have a show of hands and some ideas.

I'm up for it, I don't mind the format - I enjoyed the format last time. So long as it can be done at about 6m I'm good. I would however suggest that the points differ slightly, as the scoring was very high last time... especially with people using swanky sights. Perhaps a 2p ring with a 5p ring in the middle? I say 2p rather than 10p simply because there's more of a size difference between it and 5p.
Rim the 2p - 1 point, in the 2p or rim the 5p - 2 points, in the 5p - 3 points.
A card being up to 30 points should sort the men from the... well... other men.
Also rumour has it someone might be getting a rather swish revolver and I'm sure he'd like to put it through its paces in some form of competition.

Why do you think Alex C would score less with a bigger target? As for swanky sights, you do know Alex C didn't have fully functioning eyes last year? His 'sights' have now been repaired - I suspect anyone who could score 18s and 19s while not being to see properly will wipe the floor with us now. Can't sleep tonight, too much of a disturbance in the burn

I don't know much about other people's eyes, I only get to use my own these days. If you try to get hold of someone else's they're all "I'm calling the police" and "you need counselling", very judgemental and not at all inclusive.
I just thought there was room to differentiate between hitting a fairly large 10p and hitting a fairly small 5p in the competition. By the look of my previous cards I'd be screwing myself out of points suggesting this, but I'd like the challenge and perhaps others would too.

It's all up for discussion...
Seeing as I'll probably end up overseeing things (if nobody else volunteers - all of you feel free to offer,) I'd be looking for a level playing field that's easy to score. The original idea of drawing round a 10p coin was just to make sure everyone was on the same page and that it wasn't too intimidating for those that had only ever shot from a chair, table and rest.
Do we want smaller, harder to hit targets - say, 5p size? Let's have some pics of suggested targets to help us visualise things.

Perhaps 2p with 5p doesn't leave much room between rings. Here are some entirely sensible and reasonable options that anyone could easily create:

By the look of my previous cards I'd be screwing myself out of points suggesting this, but I'd like the challenge and perhaps others would too. Agreed. I printed targets similar to that idea (0,1,2,3 points) for my own enjoyment last year, with the same idea of rewarding better shots with a ‘3’. My depth of view means I can either see the iron sights (with reading glasses) or the target (with naked eye), but never both at the same time. A red dot is the only way I can get a compromise that lets me shoot a pistol (maybe a scope would work as well). I can use an iris (peep) sight on a rifle as the hole acts like a pin-hole camera, bringing everything into focus without a lens.

1/2p??!! There's a blast from the past.
Anyone got an old half crown?
Only two members have expressed any interest. Could we have a few more names and input please otherwise this won't get off the ground.

My first saturday job (delivering bread in London's east end) paid the princely sum of half a crown, but that bought three Mars bars! I remember the thrupenny being a twelve sided coin - never knew there were round ones.
