Delay in fitting peep sight to granny. Kind of reluctant to put screws into the 100+ year old stock! In the meantime I’ve taken to shooting the HW30S at 8m. First go, 2 clear misses in a score of 16. 8m is as far as I can go without shooting in the open.
These HW30s represent a simple, fun way of shooting, I’ve become a fan of them.

I know that feeling....its the cutting of the wood to fit the shape of the base that is the hardest bit to start......Good Luck

Not wanting to inflict a swimsuit round involving me on the interweb, here’s a card as per Bri’s suggestion - if we go that route. 10/10, or 18/20 using old scoring system (‘2’ for inside, ‘1’ for touching line).

Steve, is the inner white 5p size? It's hard to tell the scale.

Steve, is the inner white 5p size? It's hard to tell the scale. The green is the circle around a 5p. Bizarrely, the hole punched by the .177 (4.5mm) pellet is 4mm. I have noticed because we mark round the coin, the circle is a bit bigger than the coin. Because the hole needs to be wholly within the 10p line to score ‘2’ vs touching the 5p target to score, it is easier to score a hit with a 5p than it is to score a ‘2’ with the 10p. Seeing as we both scored a few 20’s I expect both of us to get 10/10. Hence the other score of 18/20 so we might get a resolution. I’m hoping Alex outscores me, then we’ll have to have a third comp. Looking at Stoof and Bri’s scores there is just a ‘jiggle’ between us all. We’re all capable of 20’s with the 10p circles, let’s all start a new comp and go to the 5p circles so we can get some differentiation.

In which case, I'd score your card as a 7/10.
Not that it matters because I'm going to disallow your card on the grounds that I didn't fully outline/describe the target. There's now (marginally) more detail on the posh website but, basically, it's shooting at a 5p size disc with no outer embellishments which would lend themselves more to the concentric aiming method with a peepsight than open sights. Think of it as another chance and good practice for Bell Target if we ever get back into the 10m range.
As for the drawn circle being a bit bigger than the coin, everyone's in the same boat so that's also keeping a level playing field. There's no restriction on shooting in your Speedo thongs but no pictures please.
May the best man win.

So here's a picture that will hopefully clear it up: I'll shoot another as you ask.

"The green is the circle around a 5p."
That really did muddy the waters but the above pic clears it up. It can stand as 10/10 - well done!
Over to you, Alex...

When I read it again, I thought "that's not just confusing, that's wrong; no wonder Bri came to that conclusion" I'm now using this: circles multi 5p.docx (91.8 KB) circles 5p.docx (34.03 KB) No outer embellishments, but still an inner dot. Let's me differentiate more (0 - missing all together, 1 - hole touching the outer circle, 2 - hole completely in the green, 3 - hole touching the black dot and 4 - hole completely in the black dot). Damn, just read that back to check for errors; I'm getting too serious. Even Beau (my lab) has to sit at my feet and not run in when the pellet hits the target. What with fabricating a mechanical/electronic hybrid benchrest target this coronavirus has given me a lot of time.

I feel a migraine coming on...
The files above just show as a blank sheet so let me explain a bit more without having to create a ton of details, rules, sub sections, clauses, exclusions, contractual obligations or such like for this tie-break -
Draw 10 (Ten) circles with a pen/pencil/marker/quill of your choice on a sheet of white paper (preferably A4 but use what you've got) using a (current UK legal tender) 5p coin as a guide/template/former.
You can, if you wish (it's optional - you don't have to if you don't want to) colour only the INSIDE of the 5p circles to aid visibilty in any way you see fit. Polka dots, if you like. Or Tartan. Colour all the inside of the circles. Or only some. Or none - it's your choice. Just don't add ANY embellishments on the OUTSIDE of the 5p circles
10 (Ten) shots are to be taken at the target as has been done in the previous rounds.
The scoring. It's really simple. If the pellet hole made is inside the individual circle or even hits the edge of that circle, then that's 1 (One) point. You can only score a 1 (One) with a hit as described above or a 0 (Zero) if you miss, a miss being when the hole made by the pellet does not touch ANY part of the 5p "Bull" area. The maximum you can score is 10. There are no 2 (Two) point scores for each individual 5p "Bull."
Please don't make me draw pictures as I haven't had my martini yet.

Odd, when I open them they have 5p sized circles, infilled with green with a centre black dot. No need for a migraine, the scoring I described is for me only. And to show I understand here’s my 10th open pistol card (using 10p) Go on, the sun’s over the yard arm, you know you want to.
