I, too, could be getting a new (to me) pistol... Mrs P. recently sanctioned the purchase of another gun, with an upper price limit of “don't go daft.” I found a suitable, pre-loved example for sale in Germany, at a great price - because it was broken. I paid for said pistol via bank transfer (yeah - I know) and was told that it would be despatched “sometime after the holidays.” I have since realised that I have no idea about the protocol for importing air guns into the country! So, the current situation is this: - I've bought a pistol that the seller may or may not send.
If he does send it, then it may or may not make its way through customs.
If it does eventually find its way into my possession, it's broken and I may or may not be able to fix it.
Essentially, I'm now the proud owner of Schrodinger's air pistol! 🔫 🐱

I've taken that risk seven times (HW45, HW80, HW75, Mk4is, CP88, BSA L Model and Gamo Compact) and fortunately, have never had a problem. What is it? Is it some fancy pcp target pistol? You do realise you are setting yourself up?

It's a “Naboo Blaster” (ask a Star Wars fan!). 😉
What am I setting myself up for? 😳

If your parcel does arrive (which I am sure it will) Don`t be surprised if it contains Cyanide and Uranium

Nice one Steve - you've managed to combine Airguns and Quantum Physics.
Einstein never did that.
And, when the pistol (a piece of fine work, I'm guessing) arrives, its already got a name.

Well, Einstein may have never combined air guns with quantum physics, but I do recall Newton invoking a cannon to hypothesize that the force of gravity was universal! Schrodinger's pistol is indeed a piece of fine work - but it ain't a Feinwerkbau. "Backs to the Wall there" is on the money though. Here it is in Naboo Blaster guise, as seen in Star Wars, Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace: www.partsofsw.com/Ep_1/nabgun.htm

Interesting choice. Not surprised you had to get one from abroad though - top end SSPs don't come up for sale that often as people cling onto them.

There's been a surprising amount of FWB SSP's on the German auction site recently, Bri, including a couple of LP-103's - but they've dried up over the last couple of weeks (festive season to blame, I'm sure).
I very nearly pulled the trigger on a mint, cased LP-102, but the Walther appeared and I decided to go for it instead.

Yup. Just got my hands on it yesterday. Schrodinger's pistol is in the building! It was listed for sale with a "broken trigger mechanism," which I hoped I would be able to repair or replace. On inspection though, the only thing broken was the stem on the trigger finger rest! An easy fix and now a 100% working pistol. The walnut grips are filthy though, and I'm not too keen on the stickers. I reckon I'll give the walnut a clean to get rid of all the grime, and remove the stickers whilst I'm at it. It does seem a bit of a shame though, as those stickers have been on there for over 20 years - some are dated 1996! I shot a couple of cards with it this afternoon, and it is WAY better than my Gamo Compact (quelle surprise!). I don't want to put too many pellets through it yet though, as it's been sitting in a cupboard, un-fired for years. I'll hopefully find the time to give it a mini-service (or at least a clean and lube) before Wednesday. Bring on the 2020 pistol league!

Relieved to hear that its quantum state has been confirmed.
Seems a shame to remove the stickers though - they give it a proven, battle hardened character.

Pleased it arrived. Another good experience. It’s a shame there are a few dishonest sellers that cause this uncertainty.

They add history and authenticity to the gun, but (IMO) they detract from the looks - and the grips REALLY need to be cleaned. I thought about replacing the grips and keeping the originals in "as-is" condition, but the price of a new set is in the region of £160!
